Running meetings was and is, kind of, a nerve-wracking learning curve. (I'm just being honest.) I have A LOT to learn about Roberts Rules of Order and am grateful for city staff and a city attorney who's willing to guide me. They've run far more meetings than I may ever run. I certainly will need their help heading into the budget cycle. Lots of legal-eez, going on.
But being Mayor of the City of Keystone Heights is awesome.
Here's why:
Our students at the Watson Center are taking civic pride. With an elected person on site, they generously toss out the title and bump around ideas for me to ponder.
I love it. College students are the best.
I have met a lot of people over the past six months and intend to meet many more. Here is the reason why: I may not be elected by you but as I travel around and check in with local organizations, just know, I am another set of eyes and ears and I am looking to ensure you have all the resources you need.
I love Keystone Heights.
