2023. A week in to the new year. Question: How many of us still find our instincts want to write 2022? Yep, me too. It takes awhile to make the transition.
KIWANIAN OF THE MONTH
President Tina S. announced Erik Fehley is the Kiwanian of the January. She said she was impressed with the way Erik jumped in to help create the (award winning) parade float. She said, as a newer member, it was refreshing to see how quickly he participated in club activities. Congratulations, Erik.
SANTA UPDATE
As was previously reported, our club adopted the Keystone Heights Santa Claus (aka Keith Hatch) this year. Patricia recapped his Christmas season this morning. The club accepted $4,125 in donations. Santa and his helpers bought, wrapped and delivered gifts (and some dinners) to 14 families which included 53 children. Simply wonderful.
The Board will meet to determine next steps for this outreach.
MLK DAY OF SERVICE
President Tina S. is looking for project and/or ideas to partner club members with Ameris Bank. If you have a suggestion, please contact Tina S. and share those ideas with her. One option may be Lake Area Ministries.
DCM
The club will host the first DCM of the year at Montgomery Center on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2023. The evening will start at 5:30 for a meet-and-greet time. Dinner will be served at 6 PM and the speaker, Kiwanis Governor Sharon Moody, will start at 6:30 PM.
