February Board Update

501(C)(3)

The board is working on the long-form application as multiple individuals are pulling together pieces of the puzzle. Tina B. submitted the clubs' history of activities and conflict-of-interest statement. Tina S. is working on the By Laws. Patricia will contribute the financials.

BACKGROUND CHECKS

The club is going through the process of verifying background checks for members directly involved with students under the age of 18. Each member has been sent an email link to start the process. Members will not have to pay out-of-pocket. We are testing the sequence out on Tina S. and will follow up with more information, if needed.

DCM

The next DCM is Tuesday, February 27 at 6 PM at Montgomery Camp. The meal will come from the barbecue menu (pulled pork, smoked chicken, baked beans, coleslaw, garlic bread, blueberry cobbler and house salad) and is $25. Governor Elect, Tommy Mills, is the speaker. The group will nominate the next Lt. Governor and Foundation nominees.

The 5th-week social meeting will still be held on Thursday, February 29 at a location to be decided.

KLRBA EXTENDS HONORARY MEMBERSHIPS TO CLUB

The Keystone Lake Region Business Association (KLRBA) is extending honorary memberships to our club members meaning if any member would like to attend their monthly meeting (first Thursday of each month), the only cost associated with the membership is paying $15 for lunch. The lunches are catered by members of the Woman's Club.

The board decided to reciprocate the offer to their members, as well, allowing them to attend our meetings and paying the $7 breakfast fee.

OTHER NEWS

  • Board approved 3 scholarships for graduating seniors (1 at $1,000 and 2 at $500). Hopefully, there will be an applicant from Key Club who would receive the larger amount. Those amounts will not be published on the application.

  • Tina B. and Marilyn are working on a Membership Open House. It will be held on the club's 35th anniversary at a morning meeting (5th-week meeting). Mark your calendars: Thursday, May 30th at 7:30 AM.

  • Board is working on re-branding the club (t-shirts, pop-up signs, stickers, banners, parade banner, big check) using new logo.

  • The board discussed forming a committee to discuss the future of CLAUS Mission.

  • Team Reach now has dates for February meetings and events under the Calendar icon.

  • Next board meeting is Thursday, March 7th at 7:30 AM
