New 4H club forms

Brittney Welborn, a longtime resident, recently answered the call to host a new 4H club called Clovers Custom Creation which will focus on the arts. The club is intended to reach five- to 12-year-old boys and girls. Brittney said she hopes to sign up 25 children, initially, and hopefully build up to 40 with additional support from 2-3 more adults.

The club will meet on Sunday afternoons at the Woman's Club for the duration of the school year. The club meets one time per month.

Themes are set for each month:

September-Casting our Clovers

October-Falling for 4H

November-Veterans Appreciation

December-Christmas

January-Law Enforcement Appreciation

February-Valentines for All

March-Blossoming our Self Love

April-Exploring Unique Differences

May-Expressing our Love for Mother Nature

Brittney said the goal for each meeting is to create art which is then given away to others. They will not be keeping the art for themselves. Club members will take pictures of their art and put together a poster which will then be shown at the Clay County Fair.
