CINDY LEE SPEAKS TO CLUB ABOUT AMVET ACTIVITIES
AMVETS ws recognized, nationally, for Americanism which resulted in asking students at McRae Elementary to color American flags. Each age group was awarded a winner and all flags were displayed at the post.
There are three separate (but united) groups operating out of the post: Women's Auxiliary for female relatives of veterans, The Sons for male relatives of veterans and The Riders. From these groups they operate a turkey shoot for scholarships and ROTC, back-to-school backpacks, Easter Egg hunt, and other weekly/monthly activities.
Cindy said she volunteers because she likes getting involved in the community.
