NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION
John and Chrissy are taking ownership of developing a New Member Orientation to be used when new members join. Patricia said there were lots of resources on the Kiwanis.org website.
BUILDER AND KEY CLUB LIAISON
Patricia sees a need of establishing a Liaison between the club and the youth clubs at the schools. She believes the youth clubs will benefit from having a member attend their meetings and walk along side the sponsors of those clubs. Anyone who is interested in volunteering for this position, please let one of the board members know.
CLUB SURVEY
Chrissy and Fred put together an internal/external survey to gain an idea of how the club should function, moving forward. Please complete the form and turn it back in to Fred or Chrissy.
KIWANIS SIGN
Fred took care of the Kiwanis sign to be placed at the entrance of the camp. Thank you, dear.
OUR COUNTRY DAY
Fred said it appears the Commander position will fall to him next year. He's asking for volunteers to be on the board. Anyone interested in working for Our Country Day, please see Fred.
OUR COUNTRY DAY PARADE
Todd said the parade application submitted to FDOT by the City is under review. The permit for the 5K Freedom Run has been approved. In addition, he said he confirmed the City will be charged the non-holiday rate for the parade. The Budget and Finance Committee will have to adjust the security budget to reflect higher rates being charged by CCSO.
KIWANIS STORAGE
Tina S. would like all members who are bringing Kiwanis items to her bank for storage, to call her first before coming to the bank. She wants to ensure members of her staff know who we are before taking items upstairs to store them. Lawson suggested wearing our Kiwanis t-shirts when going to the bank. Her work phone number is 352.264.3621.
GOLF TOURNAMENT
Keith talked to Brad Harvey and confirmed a tournament date of November 5, 2022. (No Gator game this weekend.) He said a student named Connor Guy is hosting a camp at the golf course all summer. Keith suggested Kiwanis host an end-of-summer hot dog cookout in support of the November tournament. He would like to sponsor two youth foursomes and they could be selected at the cookout by pulling names out of a hat. His idea is that this promotes team work.
SQUARE DANCING
Patricia will team up with Tina S. and Chrissy to organize and order tickets for pre-sales for the event. Tickets will also be sold at the door. WARNING: Even if you think you have two left feet, if you have a spouse in the club, you will be attending. (Looking at several of you male members).
FRIENDS AND FAMILY DAY - KEYSTONE YOUTH SPORTS ASSOCIATION
Club discussed ways to partner with KYSA to start the new season.
BOST CAMP
Tina S. cannot attend BOOST Camp at Montgomery this year and encouraged members to volunteer as house parents when the camp is in session. The date is July 17-22. The Community Partnership School is expecting to host 14-24 students this year. Contact Tina Baker at KHHS for more information.
